Men's Fraternity "The Great Adventure" - Men's Fraternity

The Great Adventure explores a man and his world beyond the everyday. The 20-session study puts the roof on the house of masculinity and creates a vision for a man's future and destiny. This study will help men rediscover the adventure in life through a greater understanding of who they are. Men will uncover the uniqueness they have as a man and discover a satisfying life focus.

It will challenge men to consider several important questions they are continually asking themselves:

Topics include:"Who am I?" "What are my life dreams in life?" "Do I have courage to pursue those dreams?"

The study will begin on Monday, September 17 at 7:30 pm at Grace Bible Church. The material for the course costs $10, which you can pay at the first meeting.Register Now!

How many people are there? On a typical Sunday morning, our total attendance averages about 250-300 people, including adults and children. Our auditorium holds about 400 people. What time are your Sunday Services? Worship Services are at 10:45 am. We also have Sunday School for kids and adults at 9:30 am. To see our regular weekly schedule, click here. How long does the service last? Our services last between 60 and 75 minutes. What should I wear? Most people dress "business casual," but you can dress however you are most comfortable. Will I be expected to donate money to the church? We do not expect visitors to contribute to the church. As part of our Sunday morning worship, our ushers pass offering plates, and our members and regular attendees give the money that they have planned to give. As a visitor, we ask that you just let the offering plate pass by. How will I find my way around? For directions and parking information, click here. Just look for the large brick building, and enter through either of the two entrances. Someone will be near the door to help you find your way. We also have signs to help you find the auditorium and other rooms. What about programs for children? Our primary teaching times for children are Sunday School (Sundays at 9:30 am) and Wednesday night clubs (Wednesdays at 7:00 pm). During our Worship Service (Sundays at 10:45 am), we offer Children's Church for children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. Child care for children 4 and under is also available during our Sunday Services. What about programs for students (7th through 12th Grade)?Grace Bible Church has a very active student ministry. How will I meet other people?Join one of our small groups, called Home Churches. For more information, contact our church office, or use the tear-off portion of your bulletin. What does your church believe?Grace Bible Church is an independent, bible-believing Christian church. We are not part of any denominational group. For a summary of our beliefs, see our Constitution. What translation of the Bible do you use? We believe that the Bible, as written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek by its original authors, was inspired by God and completely free from error. We also believe that the Bible has been miraculously preserved throughout history. No other ancient writings even come close in terms of accuracy and reliability. Some of our English translations are very accurate, but no English translation is inspired by God. Every English translation has two potential sources of error. First, none of the original biblical manuscripts exists today. All English translations are based on multiple copies of the original manuscripts. These copies differ from each other in some small details. The differences are minor, and do not challenge any Christian doctrine. Second, the translation from the biblical manuscripts into English is subject to error. The scholars who examine the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek manuscripts and translate them into English attempt to be very accurate. However, the translation process is difficult, since there is not always a clear equivalent between words in the original languages and English words. Therefore, there are slight differences between even the best English translations. For most of our preaching and teaching, Grace Bible Church uses the New English Standard Version (ESV), which is a very accurate, literal, modern English translation. However, we do not insist that people use any one version exclusively. Some people find that the New International Version (NIV) is easier to read. Others who understand Old English prefer the King James Version (KJV) or the New King James Version (NKJV). Paraphrases, such as The Message and The Living Bible are not as accurate, but are also interesting to read. For detailed Bible study, it is good to read and compare several different translations. For a good summary of Bible versions and a great selection of Bibles that you can order, visit http://www.christianbook.com/. Click on "Bibles". Check out the different options under "Features to Help You With?" The "Guide for New Bible Readers" is especially helpful.

Home Improvements Class is up and running! - Home Improvement Class

The Home Improvements Class is up and running! Our first meeting was Sunday, January 7 and we are off to a good start. If you were not there, you were missed.

Who can come? If you are married and at least one of you is under 40 years of age, this class is for you! If you are engaged, or soon to be engaged (or hoping to soon be engaged), then this class is for you too! If you fit into any of those categories and your "significant other" is unable to attend, then you are more than welcome to attend (you'll fit right in).

What's it all about? The purpose of the class is two-fold. First we want to provide a place where individuals and couples can form real and lasting relationships. The truth is we cannot do this alone (whether it's raising our children or being the husband or wife God is calling us to be) and we don't have to! Secondly (but of no less importance), we want to provide a time where we can openly explore the dynamics of our relationships and learn as we grow in our love and respect for one another. No other relationship (not to parents and not to our children) provides so perfect an environment for God to conform us into the image of His Son as does our marriage. It's so hard, because it's so real -- and that's the point!

Where do we meet? We are meeting in the Stephen Ministry room (downstairs, next to the library).

Will there be coffee? Now, what kind of adult Sunday School class would we be if we didn't have coffee?

Honeybees (ages 2 and 3) and Gophers (ages 4 and 5) enjoy playing, show & tell, crafts, and Bible stories, and snacks.

The Olympian Clubs (Grade 1-6) encourage children to develop daily Bible reading and prayer habits, memorize verses from the Bible, invite friends to clubs, and participate in service activities. The children have the opportunity to earn Olympian medals, which are awarded during a special presentation in June. Gold medal winners are also eligible for camp scholarships.

The Olympians meet in the gym for a combined opening, and then divide into smaller groups.

Challengers (1st and 2nd grades)
Conquerors (3rd and 4th grades)
Champions (5th and 6th grades)

The Olympians also sponsor other activities during the year, including movie nights, pool parties, sporting event trips, concerts, and the infamous annual Champions all-nighter.

Grace Bible Church is a chartered member of MOPS, International. MOPS is a ministry to mothers of preschool-age children. All mothers are welcome, whether or not they attend church. Child care for preschool-age children is provided during the meetings.

MOPS is especially planned for mothers who don't normally attend church. You'll be able to get to know other mothers and learn what the Bible says about your important occupation.

The MOPS Fall Semester runs from September through December, and the Winter Semester runs from January through May. You can visit one MOPS meeting during any semester and consider signing up the following next semester. For more details, please contact us.

What is Stephen Ministry? Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Stephen Ministry is Your Ministry. If you are part of Grace Bible Church, you play an important role in our Stephen Ministry. Here's what you can do: Pray for God to bring hope and healing to hurting people through our Stephen Ministry. Accept care from a Stephen Minister during your time of need. God doesn?t expect you to bear your burdens alone. Tell a friend who is hurting about our Stephen Ministry. If you are a good listener and a compassionate person, prayerfully consider becoming a Stephen Minister. To receive care or for more information about Stephen Ministry, send us an e-mail. Bear one another's burdens,
and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

This ministry is the other side of Addictions Victorious, meaning that it is designed primarily for people who have family members, friends or acquaintances that are struggling with an addiction. The title of the ministry explains exactly what the objective is...to learn to depend on God and not look at the circumstances of our lives. It is a type of support group and is open to women and men. The only real criteria for attending is a desire or need to depend more fully on our God for all things.

The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Music Room in the basement of Grace Bible Church.

Addictions Victorious of South Jersey, Inc. is a fellowship of both Christian and non-Christian men and women, who in our struggle with substance abuse and emotional problems, come together to share our experiences, strengths, and hopes with each other that we may solve our own problems and help others as well.

We are a Christian support group and accountability group.

We disciple each other as we study God's Word (the Bible) to learn His will for our life TODAY, and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us through each day.

We seek God's mercy and forgiveness and guidance through prayer for each other, as well as obedience to His Word.

We assist with rehabilitation referrals and pre- and post-rehab care and support.

At our weekly meetings, we share personal or historical experiences that might prove helpful in assisting in recovery.

We maintain open communications with attendees for accountability and support.

We follow up with returning rehabilitated men and women to encourage continued attendance following return from rehab.

When necessary, we assist in the cost of rehabilitation application fees and transportation to rehab centers.

We also guide attendees to appropriate counseling services or literature that may be of assistance in recovery or continued recovery.

We use many "tools" taught in AA programs, as well as a workbook Ralpha's Twelve Step Program for Over-Coming Chemical Dependency and The Life Recovery Bible (NIT).

We DO NOT offer legal, medical, or recovery counseling!

We DO NOT provide funds directly to attendees for any reason whatsoever.

We give God the glory for our recovery!!
